Fort George Ice Rink - free

Added: Jan 05, 2017
Category: News About NOTL

I just got an email from Amanda at Fort George with all the information you need to know about the new Ice Skating Rink at the fort.   Its withink walking distance of most of our vacation rentals in Niagara on the Lake, but even if your vacation home is close, these winter winds might mean you want to drive over to the Fort, I think the parking is free!

Don't have skates?  You can rent them and also enjoy a cuppa of hot chocolate.  Your vacation rental can be your home base in any season for exploring Niagara Falls and the Niagara Region!!

this is what Amanda emailed me:

We hope you will join Parks Canada this weekend for the Canada150 ICEtravaganza event taking place at the new skating rink at Fort George!

Explore Fort George, take a turn around the new skating rink, savour hot chocolate in the Agora, and have a blast during musket and artillery demonstrations! Live music from "Kindred" and "The Howling Horns"! A Snowman building contest (weather permitting)! A very special skating show performed by "Glisse on Ice"! Interactive demonstrations by The Canadian Raptor Conservancy will encourage Canadians to connect with nature and history while experiencing the great outdoors. Join us as we celebrate Canada’s special year with music, muskets, skating and smores!!

Be sure to find the Friends table in the Agora where you can renew your 2017 membership, find out about our 2017 upcoming events and view unique items from our Gift Shop!
